Main Ingredients

  • 2 cans 5 oz cans tuna, drained Use canned tuna for convenience.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 1/2 cup almond flour Substitute with crushed pork rinds or breadcrumbs if needed.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder for the patties.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.
  • as needed tablespoons Olive oil for frying Use as much oil as needed to prevent sticking.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, shredded cheese, almond flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a uniform batter forms.
  • Using your hands, shape the mixture into patties, making them about 2 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, pour a little olive oil and heat over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet for best texture. Consider topping with sour cream or salsa for added flavor.
