Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • a pinch salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil can be substituted with melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Icing (optional)

  • to taste powdered sugar for drizzling
  • a splash tablespoon milk for drizzling
  • a few drops vanilla extract for drizzling

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In your favorite microwave-safe mug, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix them together until blended.
  • Add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture until smooth to create a batter.
  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the batter inside your mug, and swirl it gently into the batter without over-mixing.

Cooking

  • Microwave your mug cake for about 1 minute, keeping an eye on it as it puffs up nicely.
  • Let it cool for a minute before indulging.

Serving

  • If you wish to drizzle icing over it, mix powdered sugar with a splash of milk and a few drops of vanilla extract, then pour over your warm cake.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Can be frozen and thawed overnight in the fridge.
