Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces cod fillets (about 6 ounces each) Ensure they are fresh
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional for thickening) Mix with a tablespoon of water if using.
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by patting your cod fillets dry with a paper towel.

Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, combine the minced ginger, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and garlic.
  • Mix well to create a harmonious sauce. If desired, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and add it to the mixture for thickening.

Cook the Cod

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of oil.
  • Once hot, add the cod fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden-brown and flaky.

Add the Sauce

  • Pour the ginger sauce over the cod fillets in the skillet.
  • Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the fillets to absorb the flavor.

Serve

  • Once the cod is cooked through, plate it with a drizzle of the remaining sauce and a sprinkle of chopped green onions for garnish.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the cod in the ginger sauce for 15-30 minutes before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
