  • Rinse the rice under cold water in a fine-mesh sieve to remove excess starch, ensuring a fluffier texture.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, vegetable broth, and tomato sauce. Stir gently to mix everything together.
  • Place the saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes.
  • After cooking, remove the pan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with ingredient substitutions; for instance, chicken broth can replace vegetable broth. Be mindful of the cooking time, as stoves vary, and avoid stirring while cooking to prevent mushiness. Leftovers can be stored for up to three days in an airtight container.
