Pumpkin Spice Buttercream Frosting

Pumpkin Spice Buttercream Frosting is the ultimate fall treat, bringing cozy, warm flavors to your favorite cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.

Equipment

  • Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • Mixing bowls 
  • Spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or milk as needed

Instructions
 

  • Cream the Butter
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with a stand mixer or hand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the Pumpkin Puree
  • Mix in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Incorporate the Dry Ingredients
  • Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing on low speed until combined.
  • Add the Pumpkin Spice
  • Sprinkle in the pumpkin pie spice and mix thoroughly to distribute the flavors evenly.
  • Adjust the Consistency
  • Add the heavy cream or milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency for spreading or piping. Beat on high speed for 1-2 minutes to make it extra fluffy.
