Ingredients
  

Cheese Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use orange cheddar for a festive look.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Spices

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts Pecans or walnuts work great.
  • orange cheddar cheese (for coating) For a festive appearance.
  • 1 small green bell pepper Used as the stem.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and mozzarella. Stir until fully blended.
  • Incorporate garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper into the cheese blend. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. If you’re using nuts, fold them in gently.
  • Take the cheese mixture and form it into a ball, about 6 inches in diameter.
  • Place the formed cheese ball in the refrigerator for at least an hour to firm up.

Coating and Serving

  • Once chilled, remove the cheese ball from the fridge and roll it in the orange cheddar cheese until it’s evenly coated.
  • Cut the green bell pepper to create a stem and gently insert it into the top of the cheese ball.
  • Place the cheese ball on a decorative platter and serve with an assortment of crackers, bread, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

For best results, allow enough time for chilling. Store leftover cheese ball in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Can be frozen for 1-2 months.
