Casserole Ingredients

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup Can be substituted with cream of chicken soup or a homemade version.
  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 1 cup cooked rice Use any variety of rice.
  • 1 pound ground beef Can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Shredded cheese For topping.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until the meat is cooked through and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion, cream of mushroom soup, green beans, rice, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  • If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge. For leftovers, let it cool, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
