  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • to serve maple syrup For serving.
  • to taste fresh fruits Optional toppings like berries or banana slices.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar (if using), ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 10-20 seconds on each side.
  • In a non-stick skillet or frying pan, melt a little butter over medium heat.

Cooking

  • Place the soaked bread slices in the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  • Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.

Serving

  • Transfer the golden French toast to a plate, top with fresh fruits, drizzle with warm syrup, and enjoy!

Notes

Use thick-cut slightly stale bread for best results. Don't rush the soak process and control the pan heat for perfect texture. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen with parchment paper between layers.
