  • 0.5 cup ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Make the Pie Crust

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough holds together.
  • Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Prepare the Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat your Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll Out the Dough

  • On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Place it into a pie dish and trim any excess edges.

Assemble the Pie

  • Pour the apple filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.

Make the Streusel Topping

  • In a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and cinnamon. Stir until crumbly. Spread it over the apple filling.

Bake the Pie

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow the pie to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This helps the filling set up a bit more.

Notes

For best results, use fresh apples and do not overbake. Optional toppings like vanilla ice cream or warm caramel can enhance the pie further.
