Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped pecans until they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Bake for approximately 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Top with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding walnuts or hazelnuts instead of pecans. Serve with coffee, hot chocolate, or vanilla ice cream to enhance the experience.
