Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, beating until the mixture is well combined.
  • Incorporate Peanut Butter: Gradually add in the peanut butter until well mixed into the batter.
  • Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients: Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, combining until just mixed. Avoid over-mixing!

Baking
