One-Pan Lebanese Kafta

A delicious and easy dish of spiced beef patties cooked with vibrant vegetables, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients
  

For the Kafta

  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Lamb Make sure it’s Halal
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil, for cooking

For the Vegetables

  • 2 cups Vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, etc.), chopped

For Serving

  • 1 whole Lemon, optional for serving

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, allspice, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix everything thoroughly until fully incorporated.
  • Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into oval patties, about 2 inches long.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.
  • Add the kafta patties to the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and cooked through.
  • Remove the patties once cooked and set aside. In the same pan, add in your chopped vegetables, seasoning them lightly with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  • Place the kafta patties back into the pan with the veggies. Allow them to warm together for a minute or two. Serve warm with a squeeze of lemon juice if desired!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Reheat in a low oven or microwave until heated through.
