Old-Fashioned Corn Fritters

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups corn fresh, canned, or frozen
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk. Add corn.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • Heat oil in a skillet. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and fry until golden.
  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
