Main Ingredients

  • 1 box Chicken Rice-A-Roni
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken Can substitute with turkey or rotisserie chicken.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Can substitute with cream of mushroom soup for an earthy twist.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar works great!
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Optional for topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large saucepot, cook the Chicken Rice-A-Roni according to the instructions on the box. Once done, set it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked Rice-A-Roni, shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs and/or shredded cheese on top.

Baking

  • Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious meal!

Notes

To store leftovers, let the casserole cool completely and transfer it to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze portions for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
