  • 1 loaf 1 loaf of bread (preferably a round artisan loaf) Use a sturdy artisanal bread.
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite mix) Mix different types of cheese for variety.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) Melted for mixing with garlic.
  • 4 cloves 4 cloves garlic (minced) Freshly minced for strong flavor.
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp Italian herb blend (optional) Enhances the flavor.
  • to taste none Salt and pepper (to taste) Adjust as needed.
  • for garnish none Parsley (chopped for garnish)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut the loaf of bread into a grid pattern, ensuring not to cut all the way through.
  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Drizzle the garlic butter mixture between the cuts of the bread.
  • Stuff the shredded cheese into the cuts of the bread.
  • Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
  • Unwrap the bread and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Can be frozen for longer storage. Reheat in the oven wrapped in foil at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
