- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce low-sodium if preferred
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- chopped green onions for garnish
- sesame seeds optional, for garnish
- cooked rice or quinoa for serving
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 7 to 10 minutes, draining excess fat if necessary.
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, cornstarch, and water to create a smooth sauce.
Pour the sauce over the cooked beef in the skillet and stir well to coat the beef evenly.
Turn the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Once thickened, drizzle the sesame oil into the skillet and give it a good stir, then remove from heat.
Serve the beef over a bed of rice or quinoa, sprinkling with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
