Ingredients

For the Marinade

  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (halal)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken tenderloins in a resealable plastic bag or bowl. Seal or cover it, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add a bit of olive oil if needed.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade (reserve the marinade for later) and place the tenderloins into the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until nicely caramelized.
  • Flip the chicken over and pour the reserved marinade over the top. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet, let it rest for a minute, and then slice the tenderloins. Drizzle with extra glaze if you wish! Serve warm alongside your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For substitutions, you can use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce or agave nectar instead of maple syrup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
