Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Ensure proper measurement for best results.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness to the rolls.
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast Ensure yeast is fresh.
  • 1 cup milk (warmed) Must be warmed to activate yeast.
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted) Provides richness to the dough.
  • 2 large eggs Contributes to fluffiness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a larger mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Pour the frothy yeast mixture and melted butter into the flour mixture. Add the eggs and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into 12-15 equal pieces, and shape them into balls.
  • Place the shaped rolls in a greased baking pan, cover them with the towel again, and let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top.
  • Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with butter or your favorite spread!

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free flour blend. Allow your rolls enough time to rise, as patience is key to achieving the fluffy texture.
