Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp is ideal.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice About two lemons.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest Freshly grated for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Can substitute some with olive oil if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse and pat dry the shrimp.
  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together.
  • Add in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Toss the shrimp into the skillet and season with salt and pepper.
  • Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  • Pour in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, tossing the shrimp to coat evenly.
  • Cook for another minute to meld the flavors.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with arugula salad, rice, or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat gently. Freezing is possible for up to one month.
