  • 2 large eggs

  • Zest of 2 lemons lemon zest For an intensified lemon flavor.

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For Serving

  • Powdered sugar for dusting Optional for added sweetness.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix with the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For best results, use fresh lemons and avoid overmixing the batter. Allow bars to cool completely before cutting to prevent crumbling.
