Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, melted butter, and sugar until combined to form a crumbly mixture.
  • Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust, ensuring it covers all areas.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • Fold in the pecan halves, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
  • Pour the pecan filling over the crust, spreading it out evenly.
  • Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden.
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy the chewy, nutty goodness!

Notes

You can substitute nuts with walnuts or almonds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. To serve after freezing, defrost overnight or warm slightly in the microwave.
