Cuisine American
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs preferably whole wheat
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup ketchup for topping, optional
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, diced onion, minced garlic, egg, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper, and gently mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure it's packed evenly but not overly compacted.
If desired, spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf for an extra layer of flavor.
Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) is reached.
Once baked, let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serve warm.
