Ingredients

Turkey and Seasonings

  • 1 pieces boneless turkey breast (4-6 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • Optional Fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley or rosemary)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the turkey breast under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, black pepper, and salt.
  • Rub olive oil over the turkey breast and then sprinkle your seasoning mix all over the meat, ensuring thorough coverage.
  • Put the seasoned turkey breast in your slow cooker, breast side up.
  • Pour the chicken broth around the turkey.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. If short on time, you can cook on high for about 4-5 hours.

Serving

  • Once it’s finished cooking, let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider searing your turkey in a skillet before placing it in the slow cooker. Watch for doneness with a meat thermometer, and feel free to experiment with different herbs.
