  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (halal-certified)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Rinse the chicken wings under cold water, then pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until well-coated.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  • In a small saucepan, combine honey and BBQ sauce over medium heat. Stir until well combined and heated through.
  • After 40 minutes, remove the wings from the oven and brush them generously with the honey BBQ glaze. Return them to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.

Serving

  • Remove the wings from the oven, let cool for a couple minutes, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  • Serve and enjoy your delicious wings!

Notes

For substitutions, use regular paprika if you don't have smoked paprika, and feel free to explore other halal BBQ sauces. For leftovers, store in an airtight container for up to four days, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes for best texture.
