  • 1 box 18.3 oz brownie mix Any brand; check for halal certification.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil Or melted coconut oil.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional.
  • 1/4 cup nuts Chopped walnuts or pecans; optional.
  • a pinch salt For added flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, egg, and vegetable oil. Stir until blended; the mixture should be thick.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop heaping tablespoons of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10–12 minutes. They are ready when the edges begin to firm up but the centers are slightly soft.
  • Remove from the oven, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Serve warm with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage, and enjoy the rich, chocolatey goodness!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze baked cookies for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave for 10–15 seconds or in the oven at a low temperature.
