Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups water For boiling
  • 2 bags green tea Or 2 teaspoons of loose leaf green tea
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup Adjust to taste
  • 1 unit Juice of 1 lemon Optional
  • to taste Fresh mint leaves For garnish
  • as needed Ice cubes For serving

Preparation

  • Boil 2 cups of water in a kettle or saucepan until it reaches a rolling boil.
  • Remove the water from heat and add the green tea bags or loose leaf tea. Let it steep for about 3-5 minutes.
  • While the tea is steeping, mash the blueberries lightly with a fork or blend them for a smoother texture.
  • Remove the tea bags and pour the warm tea into a large pitcher. Add the mashed blueberries and honey or agave syrup while the tea is still warm.
  • If desired, add the juice of one lemon and stir well to combine.
  • Refrigerate the pitcher until the tea is cold, about 1-2 hours.
  • When ready to serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled blueberry green tea over it. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Iced Blueberry Green Tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in a sealed container. Avoid reheating; enjoy it chilled. Leftovers can be blended with more ice for a smoothie-style drink.
