Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Dutch-processed cocoa can be used for deeper flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows Gently fold into the dough.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and mini marshmallows until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with milk or hot cocoa, and feel free to experiment with toppings like whipped cream or chocolate drizzle.
