Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1/4 cup honey Ensure it’s fresh for best flavor
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Ensure it’s Halal-certified
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced Optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

For the Main Dish

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)
  • to taste chopped green onions for garnish Optional
  • to taste sesame seeds for garnish Optional

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger (if using), olive oil, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until well blended.

Marinating the Salmon

  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let the salmon marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge for deeper flavor).

Cooking the Salmon

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the marinated salmon fillets on the baking tray. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

Finishing Touches

  • Once cooked, drizzle any leftover marinade over the top for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or stovetop with a touch of water.
