For the Sorbet

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  • Start by hulking and chopping the fresh strawberries.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a gentle simmer and then remove from heat. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a blender, add the chopped strawberries, lemon juice, and the cooled sugar syrup. Blend until smooth, with no chunks remaining.
  • Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the freezer for about two hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals.
  • Once the sorbet is firm yet scoopable, use a spoon or an ice cream scoop to serve!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for about 1-2 weeks. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
