  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour Sifted if possible for better texture.
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons) Ensure it's fresh for best results.
  • ¾ cup warm milk (about 110°F) Should feel warm to the touch.
  • ¼ cup sugar Can be adjusted to taste.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) Melt and cool slightly before adding.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg Room temperature for better incorporation.

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Add the yeast and let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix well.
  • Stir in the egg until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until the dough forms a ball.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5–8 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  • Punch down the risen dough, divide it into 12 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a ball. Place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover the shaped rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving warm. Enjoy with butter or your favorite spreads!

Tips for perfect rolls: Use fresh ingredients, don't skip kneading, find a warm rising environment, and avoid overbaking.
