Ingredients

For the Base

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Chocolate Layer

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional) Helps melt chocolate smoothly.
  • Chocolate sprinkles (optional, for decoration) Adds a fun crunch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until all ingredients are well-combined and form a smooth mixture.
  • In a small saucepan over low heat or using the microwave in short bursts (about 20 seconds), melt the chocolate chips along with the coconut oil, if using. Stir until silky and smooth.

Assembly

  • Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Pour half of the melted chocolate into the dish and spread it evenly.
  • Next, pour the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate, smoothing it out with a spatula.
  • Pour the remaining melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly. If you like, sprinkle your favorite chocolate sprinkles over the top for an added crunch.

Chilling

  • Place the dish in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1-2 hours or until set.

Serving

  • Once set, remove from the refrigerator, cut into heart shapes, and serve at family gatherings or cozy evenings at home!

Notes

If you’re looking for alternatives, you can use almond butter instead of peanut butter for a slightly different flavor. Allow the dessert enough time to chill for the perfect texture. To prevent your chocolate from seizing, avoid overheating it while melting. A splash of coconut oil can help if it gets too thick.
