  • 3 pieces ripe bananas (mashed) The riper, the better!
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Cinnamon Swirl

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for the swirl)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine your mashed bananas with the melted butter. Stir until well combined.
  • Add the baking soda and salt to the banana mixture. Then mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until no streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix!
  • In a separate small bowl, mix the cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  • Pour half of your banana bread batter into the loaf pan, followed by half of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Repeat the process, topping with the remaining batter and the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  • Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter, creating a beautiful marbled effect.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with butter, cream cheese, or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
