Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour You may use whole-wheat flour for a healthier alternative.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast Ensure your yeast is fresh.
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (warm) Make sure it is warm, not hot, for yeast activation.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs Beaten.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add melted butter. Next, pour in the foamy yeast mixture.

Dough Formation

  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms. It may be a bit sticky, and that’s okay!
  • On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Rising

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  • Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover the rolls again and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.

Baking

  • While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Brush the hot rolls with melted butter right after taking them out of the oven for that extra buttery goodness!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them individually wrapped for up to 2 months.
