Preparation

  • Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper, ensuring even coverage for maximum flavor.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the sliced onions until soft, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Slow Cooking

  • Place the seasoned beef in the slow cooker, followed by the sautéed onions and garlic. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
  • Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks, mixing it back into the broth.

Assembly

  • Scoop the beef onto hoagie rolls, top with provolone cheese, and place under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melty and bubbly.

Notes
