  • 1 cup brown rice Rinse before cooking.

Sauce and Seasonings

  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce Choose favorite brand.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Low sodium option recommended.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing vegetables.
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated Fresh ginger enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced Minced garlic adds aroma.

For Garnish

Instructions
 

Cooking the Rice

  • Rinse 1 cup of brown rice under cold water and combine it with 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 40-45 minutes until tender.

Sautéing the Veggies

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add broccoli florets and sliced bell pepper. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until bright and slightly tender. Remove and set aside.

Browning the Turkey

  • In the same skillet, add ground turkey. Cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it apart until browned and fully cooked. Stir in ginger and garlic, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Adding the Sauce

  • Pour in teriyaki sauce and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.

Combining Everything

  • Return sautéed vegetables to the skillet with turkey and mix everything together.

Serving

  • Fluff the rice and place a generous serving in each bowl. Top with the turkey and vegetable mixture. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For customization, consider adding toppings like sesame seeds or furikake. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat gently for best results.
