Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips Ensure they are at least 70% cocoa for health benefits.
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • ½ cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts, roughly chopped) You can substitute with other nuts or seeds.
  • ¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut Optional
  • 1 pinch sea salt To enhance flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by melting the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the bark from sticking.
  • Fold the chopped dates into the melted chocolate, stirring to coat them evenly. Add any extra toppings you desire, like chopped nuts or coconut flakes.
  • Pour the chocolate-date mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly into a rectangular shape that’s about ¼-inch thick.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top and scatter any additional toppings.
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes or until the bark hardens.
  • Once firm, remove from the fridge and break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
