  • 1 lb Ground turkey Use lean ground turkey for better flavor and health benefits.
  • 1 cup Whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Plus more for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Diced onion
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Dried herbs Optional; personalize with your favorite herbs.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce, diced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and dried herbs. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
  • Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce on top, ensuring it covers the entire loaf for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Once cooked, remove from the oven and let rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  • Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overmix the ingredients to avoid a dense meatloaf. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
