Preparation

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with some melted butter.

  • Gently pour the custard mixture over the cut rolls, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Soak the rolls in the mixture for about 10 minutes.

Baking

  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the rolls and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Serving

  • Serve warm with fresh fruit, maple syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

For a Halal-friendly option, substitute eggs with a plant-based alternative, and use non-dairy milk for a dairy-free version. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for longer storage.
