Ingredients
  

For the Shawarma Marinade

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat) Adjust according to spice preferences

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 Juice of 1 lemon

For Serving

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together the minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, black pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  • Place the boneless chicken thighs in a slow cooker. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  • After the cooking time, check if the chicken is tender and fully cooked. It should shred easily when pulled apart with a fork.
  • Using two forks, shred the chicken in the slow cooker and mix with the juices.

Serving

  • Serve your shawarma with fresh vegetables, pita bread, and any toppings of your choice.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight. Adjust spice levels to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley.
