Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (halal)
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup) 10.5 oz
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and chopped onion until fully cooked. Drain any fat and add salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Top with the cooked ground beef mixture, and then layer the remaining potatoes on top.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over the top layer of potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the casserole.

Cooking

  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Once done, let it cool slightly, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
