Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (ensure it’s halal)
  • 4 cups Fresh Spinach
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled
  • Optional: Freshly Ground Black Pepper for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Wait until it shimmers to know it’s ready.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they become soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and let it cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until it’s browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon—about 5-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the paprika, salt, and black pepper, stirring to mix well.
  • Toss in the spinach, folding it into the beef mixture. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts down.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the crumbled feta cheese.
  • Serve the Ground Beef & Spinach Skillet warm, and add freshly ground black pepper if desired.

Notes

Consider using halal ground turkey or chicken for a different flavor profile. Make sure to let the spinach wilt nicely for added depth of flavor. Feel free to add additional spices like cumin or oregano for personalization. For pre-prep, chop onions and garlic in advance.
