  • 1 pound ground beef (Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped (optional) Ensure they are halal-friendly

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, black pepper, and oregano.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and optionally the chopped sun-dried tomatoes. Cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  • Add the fresh spinach and stir until it wilts, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, sprinkle crumbled feta cheese over the top, and gently stir to combine before serving.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For substitutions, you can use ground chicken or turkey. Vegetarians can use lentils or chickpeas. Don't overcook the spinach to maintain its bright color. Be generous with seasoning for better flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; can also be frozen for up to a month.
