Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Sauté the Beef: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef sirloin and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3–4 minutes, then remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for an additional 5 minutes or until they release their juices.
  • Make the Sauce: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour over the mixture, stirring well to combine. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Combine Everything: Lower the heat, then stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Return the beef to the skillet and mix everything until well coated. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes, adjusting seasoning as needed.
  • Serve: Serve the creamy beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
