  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%) Use room temperature milk for best results.
  • 3 large eggs Use room temperature eggs for better rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Plus extra for greasing the pan.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Generously grease a popover or muffin tin with melted butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into each muffin cup, filling them about halfway.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the hot oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the popovers are puffed and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For optimal results, do not open the oven door while baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes.
