  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup For sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Preparation

  • Start by shredding your medium head of green cabbage.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, and rice vinegar until it’s smooth and well combined.
  • Place shredded cabbage in a large mixing bowl. Pour the ginger sesame dressing over it and toss until the cabbage is evenly coated.
  • Once combined, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onion on top for added flair and flavor.
  • Allow the cabbage to sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavors, then serve it fresh as a side dish.

Notes

For best flavor, let the dish sit for a few minutes before serving. Avoid over-dressing to keep the cabbage crunchy. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For freshness, prepare the dressing separately if planning for leftovers.
