  • 4 fillets flounder fillets Use fresh or thawed if frozen.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese You can substitute with Pecorino Romano if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs Fresh herbs like basil or parsley can be used as an alternative.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Add right before serving.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the flounder fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the garlic mixture over the fillets.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of each fillet.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Ensure not to overbake the flounder as it can become dry. For added flavor, consider adding red pepper flakes to the garlic mixture.
