Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and place a cast-iron skillet inside to heat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring until well-mixed.
  • Add olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, and warm water. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough for about 1 minute until slightly smooth, then shape into a circle.
  • Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and place the dough inside.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  • Let the bread cool for 5 minutes in the skillet, then transfer to a wire rack and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Don’t over-knead the dough, and feel free to experiment with add-ins like cheese or other herbs.
