Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly combined.
  • In another bowl, mix the vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Blend until smooth.
  • Gradually fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay!

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the greased baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan. For an added touch of decadence, spread a layer of cream cheese frosting on top once cooled.
  • Cut the brownies into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for that ultimate fudgy texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days at room temperature or refrigerate for a week. They can be frozen for up to three months.
