Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or any protein of your choice) Can substitute with ground turkey or black beans for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 head lettuce, shredded Freshly washed and shredded.
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)
  • 1 cup Fritos corn chips Add just before serving for maximum crunch.
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa

Optional Toppings

  • sliced jalapeños For added heat.
  • black olives
  • avocado Creamy addition.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula while cooking to ensure it crumbles nicely.
  • Add the taco seasoning once the meat is fully cooked, stir to combine, and let simmer for about 5 minutes.

Preparing the Veggies

  • While the beef is cooking, wash and shred the lettuce. Dice the tomatoes and prepare any other toppings you wish to include.

Assembling the Salad

  • In a large bowl, layer the lettuce and diced tomatoes.
  • Next, spoon the seasoned ground beef on top.

Adding Toppings

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the meat, followed by a generous handful of Fritos.
  • Drizzle with sour cream and salsa.
  • Give it a gentle toss to mix, serving while the Fritos are still crisp!

Notes

Best served fresh. If you have leftovers, store the beef, veggies, and toppings in separate airtight containers. Reheat beef separately and refresh salad with fresh ingredients before serving. Add Fritos last to maintain their crunch.
