French Onion Soup Burgers

- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 large onions thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 4 slices of cheese Swiss or Gruyère
- 4 burger buns
- French onion soup broth optional
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until they are caramelized (about 15-20 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into burger patties.
Grill or pan-fry the beef patties to your desired doneness.
